Our community is the backbone of Black Health Legacy. We are working with community partners rooted in Black, Black African and Black Caribbean communities to build a trusted, lasting resource that brings fairer improvements in health
Our partnership purpose
Our community partners include organisations, charities, faith groups, local community groups and individual advocates who share our commitment to better health equally and for all. Together, we are:
- Co-designing outreach and engagement activities that connect with people’s real-life experience.
- Hosting workshops, focus groups and events to listen to people and share results.
- Supporting research volunteer recruitment through trusted local groups and networks
- Offering feedback on materials, language and formats to ensure cultural relevance for our community.
By working together at every step of Black Health Legacy, we will deliver research that is about, with and for our communities.
How we’ll work together
Genuine partnerships thrive on trust, transparency, respect, and accountability. During this project, our community partners will:

The Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN) is a Black-led organisation dedicated to eradicating health inequalities and wider disparities faced by Caribbean and African communities in the UK. Through strategic engagement and partnerships, CAHN places the voices and lived experiences of Black people at the heart of public policy and health practice. Recognising the deep-rooted, systemic drivers of poor health outcomes, CAHN has chosen to participate in the Black Health Legacy program to advance equity and amplify community-driven solutions that address these inequalities.

The Partnership for Black People’s Health is a collaborative, community-embedded research initiative focused on advancing the health and well-being of Black communities. Through research, co-production, and advocacy, we aim to address health inequities by transforming how health is understood, supported, and delivered. We center Black voices and lived experience in health research and priority setting. We have joined the Black Health Legacy programme to help drive health equity through community-rooted research that reflects the real priorities of Black communities.
